Naptide is a pre-launch project. This site collects one thing from you, an email address, plus the answers to two optional questions. This page says exactly what we do with that, what we will send you, and the terms for using the site. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
Naptide is a product in development, run by its founders. For data protection purposes the controller of the information collected on this site is Mark O'Brien, 285 Third Street, Cambridge, MA, USA. You can reach us at hello@nap-tide.com.
If we form a company to run Naptide, we will update this page to name it. Your data will move with the project and nothing else about this notice will change without telling you.
| What | When | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | When you join the waitlist | Yes, to join |
| Which pricing option you clicked | If you click one before joining | No |
| What you currently use to track your baby's sleep | If you answer the question after joining | No |
| Whether you are willing to talk to us for 20 minutes | If you tick the box after joining | No |
| The domain the form was submitted from | Automatically with each submission | Technical |
| Aggregate visit statistics (page views, referrer, country, browser type) | While you browse | Technical, not linked to you |
We do not collect your name, your baby's name, your baby's age or date of birth, or any health information. The app screens on the site show example data and no real child.
We use your email address to tell you about Naptide: when there is something to try, and occasional updates on progress. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by entering your address and pressing the button next to the statement that says we may email you. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or writing to us.
We use the answers to the two optional questions to decide what to build first and whom to talk to. The legal basis is the same consent.
We use aggregate visit statistics to see whether the site works and where visitors come from. These are not linked to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site.
We do not use your information for anything else. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or use it to build a profile of you.
Two companies process information on our behalf. We have no others.
If you are in the UK, the EU or the EEA, this means your information is transferred to the United States. Both companies offer standard contractual clauses for these transfers, and Formspree and Cloudflare participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If we add a different email provider when we are ready to send to the list, we will update this page first.
We keep your email address and answers until one of these happens, whichever is first:
Test submissions made by us while building the site are deleted as we go.
Wherever you are, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and we will do it. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA you also have the formal rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was done before. If you are in California, you have equivalent rights under the CCPA, and we do not sell or share personal information as defined there.
To use any of these, email hello@nap-tide.com from the address you signed up with. There is no form, no account, and no fee. We will reply within 30 days and usually much sooner.
If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to your data protection authority: the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, the Data Protection Commission in Ireland, your national authority elsewhere in the EU, or your state attorney general in the US. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Every email will include a working unsubscribe link, and one click stops everything. We will not email you about anything other than Naptide, we will not pass your address to anyone else to email you, and we will not add you to any other list.
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or tracking pixels. Visit statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not identify individual visitors. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to protect the site from automated abuse; it holds no information about you.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google's servers. Google's handling of those requests is covered by its own privacy policy.
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and if we learn we have, we will delete it. The Naptide app, when it exists, will be used by adults to record information about their babies; how that information is handled will be covered by a separate notice written before anyone can create an account.
This site describes a product that does not yet exist and collects interest in it. Nothing on it is an offer to sell anything. Prices shown are options we are asking about, not prices we are charging. Features described may change or may never ship.
Nothing on this site, and nothing Naptide will suggest once it exists, is medical advice. Descriptions of infant sleep are general information drawn from widely published guidance and are not tailored to your child. Always follow the advice of your doctor, nurse, midwife or health visitor, and contact them if you are worried about your baby.
The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available but make no promises that it will be either, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for loss arising from your use of it.
The only content you give us is an email address and two short answers. We use them as described above and for nothing else.
The Naptide name, mark, design and text on this site belong to us. You are welcome to link to the site and to quote from it with attribution. Please do not copy the design or pass the product off as your own.
If we change this page in a way that matters, such as adding a new processor or changing what we email, we will update the date at the top and, if you are on the waitlist, tell you by email before the change takes effect. Minor wording changes will just be made.
For anything on this page, to see or delete your information, or to ask a question. We read everything and reply within 30 days, usually within a few.
